about

  • Designed a fully operational temporary bridge structure (called the Flying Jump Span) to AREMA specifications to allow a single line of train traffic over the river while the permanent bascule span erection was taking place. 
  • Designed the bridge structure to be lifted in and out of place twice daily to allow boat traffic through while maintaining a longitudinal tolerance of 1/16” each time the Flying Jump Span was lowered back into place.   
  • Developed and detailed shop drawings for the entire fabrication of the Flying Jump Span.
